She came and she ran, and she ran well. The records say her was the fastest debut marathon for an American woman, and the fastest time by an American woman in New York, and that her third-place finish was the best by an American woman in 14 years. It was good, and it is a good running story, one worth telling now that Goucher is coming back from an injury and coming back to New York to run in this Sunday's New York City Marathon.
With the Olympics coming soon, I was thinking of some of the sports I like to watch, and why I like to watch them. I am a friend of Misty May-Treanor on facebook, part of the two time gold medal winning team. She posted a picture of her and her team mate Kerri Walsh in the new Olympic uniform.
I have a bone to pick with whoever decided that sport sunglasses have to look like they were stolen from the set of The Matrix. They wrap around your face to shield you from the sun, wind, and any shot you had with the hottie you see every time you run in the park. April 28, Just for fun, I wanted to share this little video with all of you. It's been circulating among my facebook friends as we live in Tracktown, USA and see some of these elite runners around town, on the running trails, or just visiting for big track meets.
Patrick Smyth of Santa Fe, N. Smyth clocked in at pacenearly five minutes ahead of runner-up Anthony Costales from Salt Lake City. Smyth established an early second lead on Costales and Noah Hoffman, a U. Olympic Ski Team member.
Kara had just moved to Boulder and was back in the groove of professional racing after having a baby a few years prior. She is a highly decorated distance runner, and has been one of the best runners in America for over a decade. Kara started running in grade school but she really began to tap into her potential after college moving up in distance, running the m and m finals in the Olympics and then making her way to the Marathon earning 10th place in the Olympics.
